Dr Jeri Booher writes:
Producing Grand Slam was a long time breeding goal for TIMBERLAND. Taking three champion generations from the maternal side with top lottery pick, granddam Accoyo Sara and line breeding grandfather Hemingway to white champion granddaughter Valia took nine long years. Over 25 pounds at birth, Grand Slam epitomizes the best of the Hemiaccoyo lineage. Bright, fine, heavily fleeced from his nose to his toes with the look that shouted out “Macho!” from day one, his Champion presence across the room caused one Judge to comment on what a magnificent presence he had. As competitive as the competition is in any white Huacaya male halter class, Slam has done very well in three years of showing. In his total three shows, as a juvenile, yearling and two year old, he took first, first, first, respectively, then finally culminating in the White Champion Male as a two year old. As large and as macho his presence in the pasture is, he can easily be called the “gentle giant”, one who is always curious and watchful, but every bit a gentleman. His thus far small number of offspring have been consistently all that we have desired in carrying on his traits with supreme, consistent fineness of fleece. Two young females from the 2011 crop will be available for sale in 2012.

NOTE: Grand Slam is co-owned with Birch Knoll Alpacas.
